So, I created this porcelain doll, and I was like, "Doesn't Marianas Trench have a song called 'Porcelain'?" I went back and listened to it and realized that it perfectly described the relationship between Marlo here and her creator, Turin. @_@

Marlo is a porcelain doll who is convinced she is alive. She often says that she has "air in my lungs and a heart that beats" to further drive home the idea that she is, in fact, living. Nobody--not Turin nor the other dolls--has the heart to tell her that she is just made of porcelain and has no air in her lungs or a heart that beats. She is curious about the outside world, but she has no desire to leave because of what Turin tells her about it. She just wants to see the band that plays outside, but he won't let her near the front windows. Despite her curiosity, she's normally too cautious to try much of anything because she's afraid of getting hurt. For this reason, she moves very slowly and doesn't touch anything unless Turin gives her permission first, and then she'll lightly pick it up. Turin believes Marlo's cautiousness just adds to her elegance, and for this reason, she is his favorite doll.

New dolling style that I'll probably use only for Marlo because it's frikkin' tedious. Took me three hours to do this little girl. OTL The Lolita style is complicated. @_@
