is what this journal is going to be really fast. If I keep up with it, which I doubt I will because have I ever been known to keep up with anything? No. Exactly.

Writing anything about anything has been entirely impossible lately, which makes me kind of scared because I switched from a Computer Science major to a Writing major, thinking I would like that better, and now I can't write anything sO HAHAHAHAHA shootmeintheface;;
So, here's something different to get at least some sort of creative juice flowing since the part of my brain that makes creative juices has basically shriveled into nothing.

I found a list of 365 character development questions. Instead of doing them in order (because that would be incredibly lameeee), I'm going to generate a random one every day for as long as I can keep this going. I'm also going to generate a random character to go with it. Characters will likely be used multiple times, some might get used more than others, and some might not make it at all. Whatevs. But questions shouldn't repeat.

(If they're fandom OCs, I'll include their fandoms in parenthesis.)

I haven't even read all of the questions, so who knows what's in store? Not me, that's for dang sure.

I'm hoping to keep this going for at least a week or two but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Can't be settin' my goals too high.

1. Who's the craziest person [Jessica] has ever known, and what was their relationship like?
Taking "craziest" to mean "wildest" in this case, the answer is probably her boyfriend (currently unnamed). She lived a fairly normal, boring life in the suburbs with her slightly too sheltering parents, a picket fence, and one dog. She didn't have much of a chance to meet many reckless, off-the-wall types, until she ended up in a public high school, which... was barely any better. High school is still painfully boring most of the time. There was one boy and his collection of friends, however, who were drawn to more dangerous behaviors, and that caused Jessica to gravitate toward them, perceiving them to be just as bored as she was. They introduced her to parties, drinking, and drugs on the weekends. Fake IDs and clubs. Drag races and vandalism. She was grateful not to be bored anymore and didn't waste time feeling sorry for the kids who were stupid enough to get caught and arrested.

As for her relationship with her boyfriend, the terms "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" are more like formalities to them. They call themselves that because that's what people assume when they see the two making out in the corner of the cafeteria or on the bus. Truthfully, they couldn't even be considered friends. There is a lot they don't tell each other, and the trust required to make them friends just isn't there. They're more like... acquaintances with benefits. Sex is a great time killer, and they'd sure as hell rather be all over each other than studying for exams or anything productive like that. Their relationship isn't good to say the least, and it's essentially "I don't really care for you, but anything's better than being bored at home."

But as she gets used to her new lifestyle, she finds herself just as bored as she was before it began. Figures. Some people are never satisfied.

2. What does [The Caregiver] wish he could do that he can't? How badly does he want it and what would he do to get it?
ayyy day 2. Looking good so far. Also, I should probably give The Caregiver a proper name eventually. His "proper name" has just been "The Caregiver" for a couple years at least haha whoops

Originally, he wanted to have his old, more peaceful life back, but that's not how it is any longer. He's reached the conclusion that ever since he got involved with demons, he'll never have that life again, and he is strangely okay with that. Now, I suppose, his main goal is to rid the world of demon hunters, or at least find a way to get them to stop... hunting. Without the hunters around, his life would be able to go back to at least semi-normalcy. It sure would cut down on the running around, anyway. It'd be nice to sit in one place for a little bit.

The Caregiver is a human who devoted his life to taking care of demons after happening upon the injured Halaxsapiel and forming a contract with her. The hunters being gone would make it easier to ensure that Halaxsapiel and other demons were safe. However, exterminating all of them is impossible for one person, even if his demon were to lend him her strength, as there are thousands upon thousands of them and they are all trained professionals.

That, and he is something of a pacifist who has qualms with people dying. This is part of the reason he sided with the demons in the first place: he thought the extermination of them was senseless. But he doesn't want to kill hunters either if he doesn't have to.

However, for the sake of hopefully putting a stop to this war against humans and demons, he formed a contract with one of the demons (he was to keep her out of harm's way in exchange for her wisdom and some of her power) and began training himself to fight, something he hoped he wouldn't have to do, but desperate times and all of that.

Sheesh. This answer is kind of all over the place and confusing? Idk. I got a really hard question for a character I haven't thought much about in quite some time. (The fact that his name is still just "The Caregiver" should be proof enough that I haven't worked with him in 286 years.) Obviously, nothing about this is final, and I'm still working on it. I'm not real happy with the way this is, but... I got day 2 done, at least. It's not very good, but I got it done.

3. ["Sylvia" Halaxsapiel] wakes up to find that war has been declared. What does she do?
Well, that was an extremely convenient set of random numbers, getting Halaxsapiel the day right after I did a question about The Caretaker. Dang. I'll call her Sylvia for this question (and probably for the rest of them that she gets mentioned in) as Sylvia is the human name she uses to blend in and Halaxsapiel is such a pain to say and write.

Funny thing is, this is... very close to what actually happened. As more humans began to fight back against the demons who crossed over into their world, the two sides eventually declared an all-out war on each other. As one of the more competent demons, Sylvia wasn't given much of a choice and was forced to go over to the humans' side to fight in the war. Once on Earth, she preferred to stay in the shadows and use sneak attacks to take humans out. She's not the best at close-range combat.

She got dragged into a close-range battle, however, and ended up wounded. She formed a contract with a human, The Caregiver, to avoid getting into an even messier situation in her weakened state.

Basically, she thinks wars are a huge pain, and she does her best to minimize her involvement in them, only acting when she absolutely has to. It's a lot easier that way.

Ha, this next one is a total joke and also has multiple parts, so here we go.

4. [Jia (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!)] has an award someone gave her sitting on a shelf. What is it for, and what are the circumstances under which she received it?
Jia owns the Biggest Mary Sue In The History Of The Universe award, given to her by me and a number of my friends. (; Realistically, in her circumstances, she wouldn't earn any actual awards. She's part of the Varia, despite not being worthy of it at all--like, honestly, how did she even get in?--and she's a hopeless silly drunk to boot, but everyone loves her anyway. In her universe, she wouldn't be considered truly worthy of any awards, although... I suppose she would still get awards, since that is kind of a very Mary Sue thing: to get awards you don't deserve. But... I'm revoking all awards she somehow effortlessly earned, and I'm replacing them all with the Biggest Mary Sue In The History Of The Universe award.
Is she proud of it or embarrassed by it?

Oh, she is definitely very embarrassed by it. (; As am I, but that's beside the point. No one wants to be considered a Mary Sue. She's incredibly angry that she managed to win this award, but... such is the life of a Mary Sue, winning everything, whether you want it or not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Does she feel that she deserved it?

Nope! Quite the opposite! She believes that there must have been some mistake. Surely, she's not the Biggest Mary Sue In The History Of The Universe! There's been a mix-up! But... there has not been a mix-up at all. The award is hers, and she's going to have to get over it. (:

Jia is hilarious. This question was so much fun.

5. Is [Theodor Hummel] an introvert or an extrovert?
Ah, an easy one. Theodor is definitely an extrovert. He doesn't like to sit still, and he would rather be out doing things with his friends, especially his bestie Fiorenza. Theodor gets his stimulation from being busy and under a considerable amount of stress all the time. He's absolutely miserable when there's nothing to do, ya know. Fiorenza is the same way, which is why they get along so well. They keep each other on their toes, always running from one thing to the other.

6. When [Suzuki Hiroto (Haikyuu!!)] was a child, what did he want to be when he grew up?
Ha, when Suzuki was real little, he thought he could be one of Santa's elves, and it seemed like the ideal situation: surrounded by toys, cookies for every meal, cool elf clothes. He also loves to sing Christmas carols, and he's one of those people who starts singing them in June and doesn't stop until February. He thought he was guaranteed a position as an elf.

Of course, those dreams ended up being squashed pretty quickly after he found out elves weren't actually real, and then he went through a whole list of things he wanted to be: a policeman, a fireman, a vet, a lawyer, a model, a scientist, a professional volleyball player... He still doesn't have a good idea of what he wants to do. He's hoping he'll settle on something before graduation, but he's also got a little time left to figure it out, so he's not majorly concerned. Right now, he's kind of going with the flow until he can find something he likes.

7. What is [Văn]'s least favorite holiday?
I almost forgot to do this, but I remembered. And with that, I've been keeping up with this thing for a full week now, which is honestly longer than I expected to. Hopefully, I can keep it up for another week longer. I apologize if you're all sick of seeing this in your inbox, but also... I don't. I'm not sorry, whoops.

A N Y W A Y

In stark contrast to yesterday's character, I'm going to say Christmas. But... coming up with a favorite holiday is hard because he's just not a very festive person in general. He doesn't have the time to decorate for the holidays, nor does he really have anyone he likes to spend them with. Văn is a quiet guy who likes to keep to himself most of the time.

That, and he sees holidays--all holidays--as a useless waste of time and money. It's become a contest; whoever spends the most money wins some big, fabulous prize or whatever, and Christmas is the biggest contest of all of them. People try so damn hard on Christmas, and he doesn't really get the idea behind it. He's also kind of an elitist dick who believes himself to be somehow better for not giving into the "lies" of Christmas or some shit like that idk man

Well, yesterday, I wasn't able to do a question because Halloween got kind of ridiculous really fast. I ended up getting sick on candy, so by the time I got back to my dorm, I wasn't in any state to be developing characters. So, I'll just have to do 2 questions today.

8. How does [BreAnne Umbreon (Pokémon gijinka)] feel about water? Does she like to swim? Go boating? Is she afraid of the water?
BreAnne doesn't have a problem with water. She's not super crazy about it. She has more of a neutral relationship with it, but she is grateful that it's around for drinking and bathing. She does like to hit up the pool in the summer. Nothing like a good swim when it gets really hot out! But she doesn't really go on boats much. She prefers to stay close to land instead of way out in the open water, so she sticks to swimming in pools or close to the shore of beaches and stuff. Her off-and-on-again boyfriend, Glanville, is a complete scaredy cat around water, though. She thinks it's kind of ridiculous. Water can't do a lot to hurt you, especially in the shallow end of the pool where your feet can still touch the bottom, haha!

9. List several phrases [Yamamoto Yuuto (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!)] is fond of uttering. Where did he pick them up?
These random number generators are mean, giving me my KHR! OCs when I haven't touched any of them in years.

Yuuto's an optimist, so a lot of the things he says are said to encourage others. "Don't give up!" "Keep going!" "You can do it!" "I believe in you!" "It'll get better eventually!" Those are all things he says a lot. He's sort of bad at giving any actual advice since he hasn't had much life experience and grew up kind of sheltered a lot of the time, so he tries his best to encourage people and feels bad that he can't help them much more than that. He picked up a lot of his optimistic attitude from his brother, Yamamoto Takeshi, who always tried to see the best in every situation and person that he encountered. Yuuto looks up to Takeshi a lot, and they were practically inseparable when they were kids, so it makes sense that Yuuto would grow up with an optimistic attitude as well. Positivity rubs off onto other people... or something like that.

10. Does [Bat With Glasses And A Necktie] tend to focus his efforts on one project at a time, or does he spread his efforts out across a variety of projects?
Yes, his name is currently Bat With Glasses And A Necktie because I haven't gotten around to naming him yet. He's my newest character, and you'll never guess what he is. ; )

Bat With Glasses And A Necktie is a terrible multitasker. It's kind of hard to be extremely productive when your hands are so small and your arms are attached to wings. Also, when you can't see that well. So, he prefers to try to do one thing at a time. It's easier that way. However, it does make his stressful office job a lot harder than it probably should be. Who lets a bat in the office anyway?

11. How strong is [Kisah Wangi]'s sense of responsibility, and what kind of things trigger it?
Kisah is 19 years old and desperately trying to cling to childhood. They don't think of themself as an adult at all, and they would rather goof off than think about anything adult-like or "not fun." They're a circus performer (a trapeze artist, to be exact), so they "lose" college and job applications in the clutter of their room so they won't have to think about leaving the circus. Out of sight out of mind. So, I would say that their sense of responsibility is rather weak for someone of their age. They are responsible enough to show up for performances, but that's only because they like performing. If it's not something they like to do, they're likely not going to do it. They are the oldest person in their friend group, however, the second oldest being 17-year-old Arabella, so they have adopted something of an "older sibling" role among the others, but it's more of a... "lazy but likable older sibling" kind of role instead of the responsible kind.

It takes quite a bit to trigger Kisah's sense of responsibility. Running a circus is hard work, and it eventually goes under. Most of the kids who performed in the circus, including Kisah, have known nothing but the circus for their entire lives. The children, desperate to resurrect the only thing they've ever known, begin thinking of ways to revive the circus--or put on one more show, at the very least. To do that, they will need a lot of money, and the hope of reviving the circus is the one and only thing that could ever prompt Kisah to look into getting a normal job. They also start saving their money more than they used to. They were horribly irresponsible with their money before, spending it on video games and strange knickknacks, and they often had to borrow money from their friends or parents, but the circus going under encourages them to be more frugal.

12. Does [Minami Keiichi (Haikyuu!!)] enjoy camping outdoors?
I can see Minami enjoying camping, yeah. He's a doer and likes to work hard, and there's a lot of effort that goes into camping trips, from the preparations to the actual camping activities themselves, so it would actually be a pretty good vacation for him. (Lord knows he needs one, but he's terrible at sitting still.) He also likes fresh air and the simpler things in life. His family can't really afford fancy stuff, so being surrounded by nice things actually kind of freaks him out a little bit. He's always afraid he's going to accidentally break something and then have to pay for it. And because he doesn't have much money, a short camping trip is probably all he'd be able to afford.

I think a camping trip's the only vacation you could convince him to go on tbh.

13. There's someone who hates [Naomu (Togainu no Chi)], but he doesn't realize it. Who is this person and why do they hate him so much?
Ha, well, it's certainly not all that unusual or difficult to make enemies in Toshima, that's for sure. It's really hard to tell who genuinely likes you, so I suppose it would also be kind of hard to know exactly who has it out for you and why. Most people, Naomu included, just assume everyone has it out for them. People in Toshima can hate you simply for existing. As long as you're playing the game, you're competition and a potential victim, and that much alone is enough to get them to hate you. Naomu likely has multiple enemies in Toshima, many of which he doesn't know about.

It also doesn't help that he's very much the kind of guy who keeps to himself all the time, so he doesn't even have one real friend he can rely on.
How would he find out?

WELL SHIT I DON'T KNOW HE'D PROBABLY JUST GET ATTACKED. That's how most grudges are handled in Toshima; there is no talking, only bloodshed. So, he'd figure out which people hated him when they dragged him into a fight. That's the whole point of why they're there in the first place: to fight every other person in the city. If Toshima even counts as a city.
What would he do about it?

Fight back as best as he can, of course. That's about as much as he can do. He's got the social skills of a patch of moss, and people in Toshima can't be reasoned with, so it's not like he can talk them down from their murderous rage and try to make all nicey-nice. It's kill or be killed, and he's actually a pretty excellent fighter. (He and Akane are my only two OCs who live to see the end of the series, and he kind of has to be good at fighting to make it that far.) So, when he finds himself in sticky situations, he claws his way out of 'em.

I haven't played Togainu no Chi in forever. I miss it a lot.

Eek! I missed another day because yesterday was my mom's birthday, so I'll just have to do 2 again today!
omg I just realized, this makes 2 weeks that I've been keeping up with this or... trying to keep up with it. I've missed a couple days, but I've made 'em up, so it's not a big deal. Anyway, I'm so proud of myself. I didn't think this would actually go anywhere or that I'd actually remember to keep at it tbh.

14. [DragonFire] just received an envelope. Whatever it is, the idea of opening it fills him with dread. What is it? And what happens when he opens it?
In DragonFire's story, he skips town with his cousin and a "friend" of theirs--this friend is more of an acquaintance who just sort of tolerates the other two--so imagine his surprise when he receives an envelope with his aunt's handwriting on it. First of all, how did she know where they were? They've been moving around quite a bit for the past little while, and they didn't tell anyone where they were going, nor did they bring their cellphones with them--the cousins because they didn't want to be found; and Moonmist (their friend) because his dad pays his cellphone bill, and who would continue to pay the bill of a child who left? The contract would have expired and the phone would have been rendered useless eventually, so he just decided not to bother with it.

I went off on a bit of a tangent there, so on with the letter.

When DragonFire opens this letter, he discovers that it's his aunt writing him to come home, which he sort of expected. He doesn't want to end his journey yet, so he ignores the letter. Moonmist burns it in the fireplace in the hotel lobby, which isn't exactly inconspicuous, but all three of the kids give really cryptic answers when asked about it and are gone before any other "suspicious activity" sets anyone off.

(I have a lot of stories where people run away or just go traveling for extended periods of time because I love journey stories. I have so many of these characters. //sobs)

15. Does [Jewel (Elfen Lied)] have any psychological hang-ups where money is concerned?
Jewel... has never had to deal with money much and hardly has any understanding of how it works, so I suppose not. I'm guessing that "hang-ups" imply an unwillingness to spend it? Probably not, then, no. If Jewel was given some money and send on a shopping trip, she wouldn't hesitate to spend it on the first thing she saw that she wanted. Her understanding of money goes about as far as, "I want a thing, but to get the thing I need money, but now I have money, so now I can get the thing." So, she would. She would get the thing. In fact, she probably wouldn't stop getting things until she ran out of money. Don't give Jewel your money and then let her out of your sight unless you never ever want to see that money again.

16. What did [Zoe] receive for her last birthday?
Blackness got her yet another snowman plush. Zoe loves snowmen and has a collection of them, but this collection wasn't something that she consciously decided to start herself. She just expressed her love of snowmen, and then her friends kind of showered her with them. She hasn't gotten rid of any of them because they're all very thoughtful gestures from her friends, so she's ended up with... a lot of them over the years.

Cleo took her out shopping to all her favorite stores and let her pick out a few new outfits.

Jamar gave her a Paws Up! T-shirt, one of the ones she already has. He and Zoe can't be considered friends, and he hardly knows anything about her. She's a huge fan of their band, Paws Up!, though, and also a good friend of Cleo's, so she's ended up in charge of the band's social media accounts. Jamar figures she'd appreciate it if he provided her with free band merch for sticking around. He fails to take into account the fact that she's such a huge fan that she already has every single piece of merch available as soon as it comes out. I honestly don't know how he forgets that. I mean, she only raves about every new piece of merch for at least a week straight.

Thom slept through her birthday and didn't get her anything. Fuckin' Thom...

17. Is [Marlo] married? Does she have a lover, significant other, girlfriend, boyfriend?
Marlo's not married, but she does live with her creator and "master," a man named Turin. They are certainly supposed to be lovers. In fact, that was the whole purpose of Marlo's creation; Turin was lonely and decided to make himself a "perfect woman." (Are they ever really perfect, though?) She's essentially a living porcelain doll whose purpose is to keep him company and do whatever he asks of her.

But things get a little complicated when Marlo finds herself intrigued by the violinist who plays on the street corner for tips. She can hear and see him clearly through her window and spends a great deal of her time watching him until Turin finds out and boards up her window because he's jealous that her attention is no longer focused on him. She then tries to think of ways to sneak out of the house to see the violinist, but it can be a bit hard to sneak past Turin since his house is not very big and the stairs are so creaky.

So, technically, she has two potential love interests, Turin, who can be a bit of a controlling creep, and James, the violinist who doesn't even know she exists.

18. How does [Dano] feel about doctors?
They're super rich, right? (; That's... mainly what she likes about them. Dano doesn't really need doctors herself, seeing as she's immortal, so she doesn't have much of an opinion on them, unless they're willing to give her their money. She may be otherworldly, but she's certainly very attached to this world and the possessions she has here, so if there's something to gain from them, she'll be super excited about doctors, but other than that...

19. Is there anyone [Cleo Catra] would die to protect?
A fitting question for Veteran's Day, a day where we honor all of those who died to protect us and our country. Even though I have quite a few problems with the way our government handles military situations and spending, I realize that that is entirely not the soldiers' faults at all and that most of them have good intentions and genuinely want to help others. My grandpa and stepbrother served in the Marines. My sister is going into the Navy in a few years; technically, she's already military certified, just not deployable yet. I'm certain that all of them are good people. And I'm certain that most of the veterans I haven't gotten the chance to know personally are also good people, and I'm glad that they go and fight in wars so that I don't have to because Lord knows I could never. Thank you so much, guys, for keeping our country as safe as you can.

Unfortunately, I don't have much else to say on the subject as it gives me a lot of conflicting emotions--these days, I've learned to keep my mouth shut about war and the military because talking about it only makes everything worse--but I do hope that everyone is having a good Veteran's Day, whatever that means for you, and I hope you take some time out of your day to thank those who have served your country. Even if you're like me and don't like war and all that goes with it, please realize that it's not the soldiers' faults, and they're just trying to do their very best, as well as they know how, just like the rest of us are.

All that being said, I suppose it's time to answer the question now.

Cleo would die to protect the members of Paws Up! and Zoe. They're all really tightly knit, like a big family, and even if there's conflict between them, they find ways to work it out, and then they go back to being friends again! (All of them have slight tempers, besides Zoe probably, so they all get into disputes pretty regularly. It's just something that they've learned to get used to. "Well, this is just something that's going to happen because of who we are, and we can't let it tear us apart.")

Cleo can seem selfish sometimes, but she's intensely loyal to all of her friends, and she's not about to let anyone get away with hurting them.

Except maybe she wouldn't protect Thom, idk. Fuck Thom.

20. What person has most influenced [Demdia Neglar (Homestuck)]'s development as an adult?
Ha, the sad thing about Homestuck OCs, especially troll OCs, is that a lot of them don't get to live into adulthood, and Demdia's timelines are perpetually doomed--all of them. Out of all of my fantrolls, Demdia is the closest to being an adult with a little bit of her blood color showing up in her eyes, but she'll never get all the way there because she's a mutant, and once she hits adulthood, that's going to be a lot harder to hide. So, it's probably for the best that she never quite makes it. She's doomed to die no matter what.

The people who have helped her this far, though, have been Prinse and Quaire. Because of her mutant status, Demdia has spent basically her entire life isolated on an island in the middle of the sea. She only interacts with the outside world via chat rooms, which is where she met Prinse, Quaire, and a few of my other fantrolls, but Prinse and Quaire are the one's she's gotten closest to. They're the two highest blood classes out of all my fantrolls, indigo and purple, and they became very interested in Demdia when they learned she was a seadweller. Of course, her would-be high status is demolished by her mutant blood, sending her from the top to the very bottom of the spectrum. But they don't really know she's a mutant yet because she hasn't told them. They just know her as their mysterious seadweller friend. Still, even if she hasn't shared the whole truth with them yet, it's nice to have people to talk to as equals, people who don't know and therefore can't judge her for her blood color. Not to mention that their conversations have made Demdia at least slightly better at handling social situations, opposed to what it would've been like if she had just grown up on the island by herself with no outside contact from anyone.

21. Someone asks [Porue] to describe his family. How does he answer?
"Where I'm from, we're all sorta family in a weird, twisted way, but if you mean... immediate family, the closest thing I got to that is my sister, Lorco. She's a real control freak, real annoying, always gotta have plans for everything, and if something messes those plans up... oh, man. She doesn't know how to deal with that kind of thing at all, which is unfortunate for her because something's always coming in and wrecking her plans. Not that her plans are ever real solid to begin with. She'd get so much farther if she just did shit. Making plans takes so much time. All she does is slow me down, and everyone expects us to work with each other. Honestly, we work better against each other, since we're both crazy competitive, and she lets go of some of her stupid plans when I start kicking her ass. Don't tell anyone, but... we haven't been working together, and no one can make us."

22. Does [Sunday Smoochum (Pokémon gijinka)] enjoy surprises?
Oh, yeah, she totally loves them! I mean... as long as they're good. She likes it when people throw her surprise parties or sneak up behind her to give her a hug. She... doesn't really like it when people jump out at her and scare her or pull a prank on her or something. She's pretty sensitive, and surprises like that just make her cry, haha!

She also likes setting up nice surprises for other people, randomly getting them gifts for no reason or surprising them with affection like hugs and kisses. She has gotten in some trouble with people who don't really like to be touched, though... Goddammit, Sunday, learn some boundaries.

23. What is [Beade (Baten Kaitos)]'s favorite season?
Probably spring! Beade loves colors and festivals, and there are certainly a lot of those in the springtime. The weather is also typically pleasant, except for the rain... Rain is better than snow, though! Snow is such a pain.

24. What does the color blue make [Velveteen] think of? How does it make her feel?
Blue skies and blue seas that stretch on forever. Ice, freezing cold temperatures. Isolation. Quiet. Peace. Not a human in sight, the way it should be. Just her by herself with arctic winds whipping through her hair and coat.

She's a demon who fears humans, specifically the sound of their voices, and chooses to live way up in Alaska to get away from them. The color blue (often coupled with white for the snow) reminds her of her cozy, safe, isolated home away from humans and the conflict that comes from all of their shenanigans.

25. Does [Beade (Baten Kaitos)] have a green thumb? If she doesn't, does she try to grow things anyway? How do they come out? What does she grow?
I just... answered a question about Beade, but okay.

I... wouldn't say she has a green thumb, but then I wouldn't really say that she has a brown thumb, either. She just doesn't garden much; there's never been any need for her to do so, since before, she just got all of the fruits and vegetables she needed placed right on her table, and now she's more of a gatherer, either picking plants out of the wild or just buying whatever she needs from the market. She tends to pick fruits out of the wild, though, at her friend Didili's request. Didili's grown and picked fruits for most of her life and has always been very cautious about spending money, so she tries to get Beade to survive on just what they can find.

So... yeah, Beade doesn't really try to grow anything. She and Didili move around too much for her to have a garden. Didili's constantly in a hurry, and Beade's constantly trying to get her to slow down, but Didili Cannot.

If Beade did have a garden, she'd probably grow... melons. She really enjoys eating melons of all kinds. I don't know how growing melons would work out for her, though... I'd say she's got about a 50/50 chance of succeeding at it. Or maybe she'll just stick with flowers or something. I'm not sure, honestly.

26. What item does [Rae-Dawn Koller] wish she possessed that she doesn't? How badly does she want it and what would she do to get it?
WOW. SHIT. IT'S BEEN A REALLY LONG TIME. How ya doin', Rae-Dawn? I was not expecting this at all. Okay.

Rae-Dawn, daughter of the CEO of Koller Incorporated, has had just about everything dropped into her lap since the time she was very little, but one thing she's never been allowed to have is a pet. Her father doesn't believe that she's capable of properly taking care of one, and he's probably right. She's bed-ridden a lot of the time and can barely take care of herself. Still, her friends from school, before she switched to being homeschooled, had pets, and she always thought they were very cute and wanted one for herself. She wants a dog or a horse more than any other kind of pet.

She's done just about everything short of stealing to try and get one: begged, cried, bribed, whined, guilt-tripped... and nothing has worked.

Think back to when [Rae-Dawn] was five years old, eight years old, twelve years old. Write a holiday gift wish-list from her point of view.

5 years old:
- a yellow princess dress
- a pony
- 7 new dolls
- 800 new outfits for the dolls
- an orange princess dress

8 years old:
- a pony
- a music box
- a stuffed unicorn
- a new dress + matching hat

12 years old:
- a pony [are you sensing a pattern here?]
- a puppy
- new paint on bedroom walls
- new bedspread (warm colors + flowers maybe)
- The Empire's Underground by Claes Lucas Kleid [a fantasy novel]

How does [Rae-Dawn] feel about physical possessions in a general sense?

Well, she's probably not as appreciative of them as some people are considering that physical possessions are a huge part of her life and she basically has a brand new one every week or so. It's easy for her to lose/forget about stuff because she just has so much of it. First-world problems, I know. But at least she's not quite as bad as her father who seems to think everything is a possession, including his employees, easily replaceable and even more easily disposable.

Both of the Koller's are pretty shallow, but I'd like to believe that... Rae-Dawn is... more "innocently" shallow than her father. Mr. Koller's just a dick about everything; at least Rae-Dawn is generally nice, even if she can't fully understand what it's like to not have everything.

27. What does [Naomu (Togainu no Chi)] believe to be his purpose in life?
Ultimately, his purpose was to be a soldier in WWIII, but the war ended before his purpose could be fulfilled. Part of him still believes he was meant to be a soldier, while another part of him feels lost and devoid of purpose entirely. Now, I suppose his purpose in life is to... find another purpose in life. With the war over, they don't really need soldiers like him anymore. He joined street fighting competitions and made his way to Toshima to fight in Igura because... well... that's what a lot of the other kids started doing post-war, y'know? His goal isn't really to win Igura; he doesn't really know why he's there, to be honest. Just... to have literally anything to do, I guess, and competitions are really good at creating a false sense of purpose. In this case, one's purpose becomes to remain alive for one more day, and that's better than nothing.

28. What does the color purple make [Turin] think of? How does it make him feel?
It makes him think of comfort and luxury because his favorite suit is purple. He also has quite a bit of purple furniture and rugs around his house, so the color is very familiar to him and makes him feel safe and at home.

29. What was [Tanner Slowpoke (Pokémon gijinka)]'s last pleasant dream?
He was on a planet just big enough for him to sit on and slowly drifting through space, passing by other planets and occasionally reaching out to touch a star. There was soft piano music playing from somewhere far away, and no matter how far he traveled through the universe, he never got any closer to it, but he never got farther from it either. It was just a constant throughout the dream. Everything was nice and slow, the way he likes it, and all the colors in the universe were blended together in such pretty ways. He was woken up by his fishing pole being ripped out of his hands and disappearing downstream.

30. How does [Ronxol Saklen (Homestuck)] feel about large bodies of water?
Not too great?? I mean, she can't really swim, so... if she ended up in a large body of water, she'd be pretty screwed. She tends to avoid going into them if possible. She also has a fear of pirates, so um... yeah.... No large bodies of water for her, ha! She's very much a landdweller and can live her whole life without going near anything larger than a small creek, so why wouldn't she?? steer clear of danger? I mean... that seems like a pretty obvious choice. Danger or no danger... hmmm idk

31. Does [Clementine Clefairy (Pokémon gijinka)] enjoy the natural world, or is she a city girl through-and-through?
This marks exactly one month that I've been doing this! I'm really proud of myself. I didn't expect to get this far at all, but it started getting to the point where "I might as well just keep going since I've already made it this far," you know?

Clementine enjoys a pretty decent mix of the natural world and the city life. The natural world has so many beautiful sights, and it's very peaceful, but the city offers a lot of convenience and more options in the event that she's bored. It's also easier to get to work from inside the city, so I don't think she'll be moving way out to the country anytime soon, but she certainly likes the atmosphere of the country and might move out there if it wasn't such an inconvenience and there was more to do.

32. Does [Thom] want power or authority of any kind?
Fuckin' Thom...

Definitely! He'd love to have the authority to snap his fingers and have people do things for him and the power to punish them if they refuse. He's actually pretty close to having this power, being as famous as he is, but his fellow band members keep him in check and don't let him abuse it. They're usually like, "All right, Thom, that's enough. Back to the trailer you go for a nap." And he... tries to put up a fight, but he does really love naps, so... resisting is difficult.

I rag on Thom a lot, but I really love him. My garbage son...

33. Does [Suzuki Hiroto (Haikyuu!!)] prefer to adopt the latest technological conveniences, or does he prefer to rely on tried-and-true methods?
Suzuki definitely likes his shiny gadgets, but he's also has that policy that says, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." So like... he'll get a new phone when his breaks or the contract expires, but he's not going to switch phones every single time one comes out. He'd be getting a new phone every month or less at that rate!! But yeah, he's certainly... pro-technological-convenience and is quite happy to be living in this era of abundant technology, and he probably wouldn't wanna go back to a "simpler" time because that would require so much more work... You'd actually have to... go to a library to learn what you wanted to know instead of pulling out your phone and Googling it. Terrifying.

34. If [Petey Wycoff] could change one physical detail about himself, what would it be?
Happy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for Petey. He's precious, and I hope he finds $50 on the ground, and he's perfect the way he is, but this isn't about what I think of Petey. It's about what Petey thinks of Petey.

If Petey could change anything about himself, he'd probably choose to make himself bigger and more muscular. He sometimes gets insecure about how small and weak he is, especially because it means he has trouble keeping up with all of his rebellious friends.

Unlike some people in the story, he wouldn't choose to make himself more colorful. He's quite content with the monochrome thing. He'd rather not... put himself in any more danger than he's already in (thanks to his RECKLESS REBEL FRIENDS.......) Petey's life would be... 4538% easier if he didn't associate with the rebels, but he's stuck now. There's no escape.

The rest of this answer didn't load at first when I hit "preview", and I was starting to worry that I'd hit the journal word limit and I'd have to continue this in a new journal... Is there even a journal world limit? I guess I may or may not find out eventually, right? (;

35. Is [Glanville Glameow (Pokémon gijinka)] a dreamer, or are his feet firmly planted on the ground?
I have so many Pokémon gijinkas. I apologize.

Ha!! I wouldn't say he's either! He's not terribly ambitious and prefers to hang around the bar with his friend Quentin and try to pick up chicks. He doesn't really dream of doing anything and would rather live in the moment. However, he's not the most practical guy on the planet, and he's sort of lacking in common sense, which sometimes gets him in trouble, and then BreAnne has to come bail him out.

I suppose he does lean more toward the "dreamer" side of things because although he doesn't plan on doing anything huge with his life, he also doesn't really plan on doing anything realistic, either. He's the kind of guy who thinks that life can never go wrong for him, and so far, he's been right. He's just extremely lucky and has friends he can mooch off of to get by, and he's charming enough to schmooze his boss into letting him keep his job, even though he's a huge slacker. He never makes any practical backup plans because he expects life to always be a cakewalk, and when bad things do happen, he minimizes the issue and relies on his friends to get him out instead of taking responsibility for his actions. Truly, he is... an annoying egotistical prick.

36. What is the worst news [Sakurako] has ever received? How did she handle it?
Sakurako is 5 years old, so at this point in her life, the worst news she's ever had to hear is that she's too old to keep bringing her stuffed duck everywhere she goes. She didn't take it too well at first, and she cried about it a little bit, but she got over it. After all, she still has her duck at home. Just because her parents are tired of her bringing it to the store with them and accidentally dropping it in puddles doesn't mean she can never have the duck again.

She's fixing to get some more bad news soon enough because of shenanigans, but... I'm sure she'll be fine. >>

37. What is [Tobias]' least favorite color?
I can't even remember if I updated this yesterday or not. I think I did?? But yesterday is a complete blur, so... yeah... I'm not sure.

Also, I've had like 4 OCs named Tobias in my lifetime. It's ridiculous. There's so many of them. This is... tiny!Tobias... He smol and young.

Anyway, tiny!Tobias' least favorite color is probably... purple. I don't really have an in depth reason for this. Sometimes, people just don't like certain colors.

Today's question and answer were sort of lame, but I'm kind of grateful for that because I'm so... tired, ha... 'Tis the season, right? (; mmmm maybe tomorrow's will be better.

38. What was the last medical problem [Grimm Grimer (Pokémon gijinka)] had?
He got a particularly nasty respiratory infection, which actually isn't all that uncommon for him. He lives right next to the city dump, so close that he might as well live inside of it, and the mold and everything in the air is really bad on his lungs. That, and he's getting up there in age, so his body's losing its ability to fight that kind of stuff off. And on account of him being a Grimer, he always hacks up this real nasty sludge when he gets an infection. Poor ol' Grimer's probably not gonna last that much longer, especially with his unwillingness to move somewhere else. He's lived in the same place for 40+ years and has no intentions of leaving it, even if it has become a major health hazard in recent years.

39. Does [Moonmist Sunsmile Walker] have any children? What kind of relationship does he have with them?
No, good Lord, no. Moonmist is still a child himself. He's barely 18, and he's pretty sure he wouldn't want children even if he was a little older. The closest thing he has to a "child" is more of a very young friend, the 9-year-old little boy who comes by his house sometimes and visits him in the garage. When they first met, it was a hot summer day, and Moonmist gave the little boy one those cheap plastic battery-powered fans to cool off with, and they've been friends ever since, practically inseparable. That is, until Moonmist breaks the boy's heart by skipping town with two acquaintances. But no, no children for Moonmist.

I'd feel bad for any children he did have because it'd probably just... end up with one of those "my dad went out for milk and never came back" stories.

40. Who was [Quaire Porlan (Homestuck)]'s favorite teacher and why?
Alternian trolls don't really have a formal schooling system. They learn everything they need to know about life either from their lusus or from experiencing it for themselves. So, I guess that means... by default, her favorite teacher is her lusus, a giant swan, Swan Mom. Quaire isn't really big on listening to Swan Mom all the time, though, and she always gets distracted by shiny things that catch her eye, so she usually learns about stuff by fiddling with all of the shiny junk she finds, so I guess... even though Swan Mom is supposedly her favorite teacher just by default, Quaire herself is her most effective teacher.

41. If [Văn] had to pick one popular saying to embody his philosophy toward life, what would it be?
Probably "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" or something like that. It means not to let go of valuable things when throwing away useless things. Văn tends to look at a lot of stuff as "useless" and questions a lot of people's values because he thinks they're way too attached to material things and that each generation is getting dumber and dumber, and knowledge is something that's really important to him, so he hates to see people throw away education and knowledge for posessions and blah blah blah. Gosh, all this kind of hurts to type. What a pretentious asshat. Knowledge and learning is great and all, but does he have to be such a dick about it?

42. How does [Henrike Kneib (Dogs: Bullets & Carnage)] prefer to remember the important moments in her life? Does she talk about them to set them in her mind? Does she take photos? Does she write about them? Does she carefully commit them to memory?
She'd probably just try her best to commit them to memory. She's very bad at writing and finds it an ineffective way of expressing herself, and if she's carrying a camera everywhere and waiting to photograph something, she can't live in the moment as much, right? She probably would also talk about her memories, though, most likely with Franco, who is pretty much the only person she trusts, and since they live together, most of her good memories involve him, so he'd be able to remember things from a different perspective and they could discuss things and have a good time and be cute friends, aaaaaaa...

43. Is [Franco Fontana (Dogs: Bullets & Carnage)] a "regular" anywhere? What do the other people there think of him?
Franco frequents a cafe nearby his house. Henrike doesn't trust him to go very far because of how dangerous the city is and how accident-prone he can be, so they agreed that he should stick to nearby places until she's around to escort him to a different part of town. His favorite location is the cafe because it's easy to kill a few hours reading in the quiet atmosphere. He sits in the very back to disturb as few people as possible, and he usually wears a hood or a hat to conceal his face. Still, the other customers still catch glimpses of him, and many of them--new customers and other regulars alike--are put off by his reptilian appearance and find him very creepy. The servers, while creeped out by him at first, have gotten over it pretty quickly because of how kind he is, and he also tips them very well when he leaves because he feels bad for loitering so long, so they've come to appreciate his presence. There are even two or three of them who stop by his table to make small talk and keep him company when the cafe isn't very busy.

44. When [Demdia Neglar (Homestuck)] interacts with others in a social setting what does she most crave, psychologically speaking? Companionship? Attention? Approval? How does this affect her behavior?
Most of Demdia's actions are motivated by fear, so in a social setting, she would crave secrecy more than anything. She's afraid that someone will detect her mutant status if she makes a single misstep. Not even her best friends know about it. Because of her desire for secrecy, she tries to speak as little as possible, and when she does talk, it's rarely ever about herself. If people ask her questions about herself, she gives cryptic answers and tries to change the subject. Most people find this suspicious and don't trust her. The only reason she even has friends at all is because Quaire finds her cryptic answers funny (mostly because they frustrate people) and Prinse is mostly just taking advantage of the fact that Demdia's a seadweller. Friends in high places, you know?

Wow, finals have been thoroughly kicking my ass. Last night was the first time I've gotten more than 5 consecutive hours of sleep in days. So, I've fallen way behind in this, but I really don't want to give it up because I've already made it this far. I've come such a long way... I have to keep going. So, I guess I'll just post two questions a day until I'm caught up! If nothing else happens, I should be caught up by Saturday, but we'll see.

45. What is the worst gift [Kawaguchi Noboru (Haikyuu!!)] ever received?
A white curly beard from his teammates during Christmas because they all expect him to play Santa. It's not super horrible, but he was still very annoyed with it. Mostly because Itsuki and Akiyama just wanted him to have it so they could make silly puns out of his name like "HO-HO-HOBORU". It's become an inside joke at his expense. Many people on the team (but mostly Aki/Itsu, the Meme Squad) make puns out of his name and call him the wrong thing all the time. Plus, it's Christmas, and they just can't go without a Santa at Christmastime! But he... refuses to play Santa for them. Come on, Noboru, cooperate.

46. Does [Thaddeus] prefer recreational activities that involve other people, or solo activities?
I suppose that if Thaddeus had had time for recreational activities before the start of the apocalypse, he would have preferred solo activites, but he never got to have much fun because his poor living situation didn't allow for it. He and his family lived on the streets, and he spent most of his time looking after his sick little sister, trying to make sure that she was well-fed and sheltered from the elements.

Now that the apocalypse has started, he still doesn't have time to relax and do things for fun because... the zombie outbreak kind of gets in the way. And if there were recreational activities going on, he would probably get pulled into more group activities and not have the opportunity for solo ones because the group he's traveling with has decided that it's better to stick together, so they're always around each other all the time. No one gets any alone time because it's too dangerous to go off by yourself.

47. What is [Hosoya Itsuki (Haikyuu!!)]'s energy level like?
Incredibly low most of the time. The energy he does have, he puts into volleyball and schoolwork, and sometimes he barely has energy to get through those. He mostly spends weekends in bed, trying to recover from the week and scouring the Internet for dank memes.

48. Where does [Bunny Doll] fall on a good vs. evil spectrum?
Definitely on the evil side. While not... completely heartless, she is kind of a scary murderer and has even eaten some people, so um... yeah. She's not really what you'd call a good guy, but she still ends up hanging out with the protagonists a lot and has more of a protagonist role, though toward the end of the story, she sort of switches back to being an antagonist?? Her morals get kinda gray throughout her life, but I'd say, in general, she's more of an evil person.

49. Does [Erika Hart] like to read? If so, what does she like to read, when, and how?
Erika likes to read celebrity gossip magazines and not much else. School's a total bore, and her English class has put her off on reading actual novels. She really only reads the magazines to snicker at them, and she occasionally likes to read them with Terry Ikin so that they can make snide comments about the celebrities to each other.

50. What hurt will [Moonmist Sunsmile Walker] never forgive? How old (and how minor or major) is this hurt? How much does it affect his life?
The biggest hurt in Moonmist's life is that caused by his uncle's death, and while there aren't really any humans to blame since it was a motorcycle accident, I suppose he'll never be able to forgive God for it. He and his uncle were always very close, and his uncle was the one who sparked his interest in motorcycles. They spent a lot of time in the garage working on them together when Moonmist was younger, and he was his uncle's biggest fan, so the uncle's untimely death hit him pretty hard. He still mourns his uncle, even though it's been years, and despite the motorcycle accident, his death didn't put Moonmist off on motorcycles. In fact, it drew him even closer to them, since they were so precious to his uncle, and now he can't imagine himself doing anything that doesn't involve driving or fixing motorcycles in the future.

51. [Takashi] gets up one morning in the usual fashion, but the sun never rises. What does he do?
Takashi spends a lot of time outdoors and doesn't have a watch, so if he wakes up and the sun still isn't up, he'll probably just assume that he woke up too early. He's not one to go back to sleep, though, so he'll get up and start packing up his campsite to move on to the next place, as usual. However, as the day progresses and the sun continues to not rise, he'll begin to get very nervous, assuming the world may have ended while he was asleep. Then, he'll seek out the nearest civilization to see if anyone else is there, and if they can confirm whether or not the world has really ended.

Whether there were people there or not would determine what he would do next. If there were people there, he would probably team up with them and see if they can find out what's going on exactly, and if there weren't people there, he'd keep going until he did come across someone else.

52. How does [Jessica] view minor violations of the law?
Ha, well, it would be pretty hypocritical if she viewed them as a bad thing. She and her friends are almost constantly stirring up trouble. Laws were meant to be broken and all that, and minor violations of the law create interesting situations and are often great fun!

53. If you had to characterize [Beade (Baten Kaitos)] as an animal, what animal would you choose?
Hmm... this is a tough one... Probably like... a ferret. She's very snuggly and likes to have fun and is energetic, but she's also weasly at the same time, so yeah.

54. If someone wrote love poetry to or about [Kunegunda Klimek], how would it read? (Either describe or--go ahead--give it a shot and write some poetry. It doesn't have to be good.)
Gosh, I can't write poetry to save my life. But if somebody wanted to write really impressive love poetry about Kunegunda, it would have to include less about her physical features and more about her worth as a person and why they like having her around. Kunegunda doesn't think very highly of herself and needs almost constant reassurance that people still like her, although she never speaks up about this, and if there was a love poem that was more about her physical traits than her as a person, she might think they only keep her around because she's fun to look at, giving her no more worth than a sculpture or painting.

55. If [Akane (Togainu no Chi)] knew she would die tomorrow, what would she do today?
Something stupid and reckless, I'm sure. Probably try to pick a fight with absolutely everyone and see how many people she can take out before she kicks the bucket herself. Go out in a blaze of glory type o' thing, ya know? She'd probably be a fuckin' idiot and challenge people who are way stronger like Shiki or--if she can find him--the ever-elusive Nano because HEY SHE'S GONNA DIE ANYWAY RIGHT SO SHE MIGHT AS WELL. Basically... she wouldn't really do anything... too out of the ordinary for her. She'd just kick her daily dose of FIGHTING EVERYTHING up a notch.

56. What is [Istoas]' favorite holiday?
This is a lame answer, and I blame the random number generators for giving me this character and this question, but honestly... Istoas is a demon, and not one of my demons who's interested in blending in to human society. He's very proud of the fact that he's a demon and has no interest in the humans or their lifestyle whatsoever, so he doesn't celebrate holidays.

57. How does [Aina] want to live out her older years?
Peacefully. And in one place. And preferably not sleeping in the woods, like Takashi and her currently do. She wants to settle down and have a little garden, possibly make some money selling vegetables. She hopes to have a few kids in the future and maybe even grandchildren.

58. What character trait most annoys [Binx] when he experiences it in others?
Untidiness. Binx really hates people who are sloppy and don't clean up after themselves. He puts a lot of effort into taking care of himself and cleaning up any messes he makes, so it really annoys him when other people don't do the same because it shouldn't be that hard? He doesn't understand how someone can just leave a mess sitting there when the trashcan is less than 20 feet away.

One final update on this journal to say that... I'm finally tired of updating this journal. I didn't quite make it to two months, which is a shame because I was so close, but I made it a lot farther than I expected. And I got some of my inspiration back, just in time for the new semester and my fiction writing class to almost start, so hopefully, I get a little writing done soon. I don't know if I'll post it anywhere, but I do hope to do something at least, even if nobody gets to see it.

Anyway, this has been fun! I hope you guys liked learning a little bit about my characters. I know it was kind of fun to explore them myself, so!! Hopefully you guys weren't too annoyed by this constantly popping up in your inbox. And if you were annoyed, well, today's the last day you'll have to see it.

I also hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!!
